In addition to selling fresh, local produce or grass-fed meat at our market, several of our farmers will be using our market to deliver their weekly CSA boxes to their Seattle customers. If you would like to support a local farmer and conveniently pick up your CSA box each week at our market, please see below to find out how to join one of these csa programs:

Sol to Seed Farm

We are a small farm in the Snoqualmie Valley focusing on crop and natural diversity. Our farming style is not a single method, instead we incorporate many philosophies and always strive to allow the natural cycles of the farm to guide us. We are entering our third season and have begun to implement a variety of practices which will lead to less off-farm inputs and a more sustainable web on our land. Our farm is Certified Naturally Grown, however, we believe in going beyond certification, making certain that we treat our land with respect and allow the local flora and fauna to thrive.

To sign up for our CSA program, you can go to the website: www.soltoseedfarm.com and sign up there using our secure credit card link. Or, you can print out the application and mail it to us with a check. We are asking for at least the first half payment by June 17th, which is our first box, and the second half by the end of July.

river farm

We are a certified Organic farm 9 miles west of Ellensburg. We have farmed organically for more than 25 years and have been certified since 1994. We believe the key to good land stewardship and top quality produce lies in the soil. We follow an intensive soil building program, striving to keep a high percentage of organic matter using green manure & compost. When necessary we use approved soil amendments such as rock phosphate.

WEEKLY SHARES PROGRAM
Shares are purchased in the spring and delivered once weekly for 18 weeks (mid-June through mid-October) to the Meadowbrook Farmers Market. The cost for shares is $25 /week. In the height of harvest you share in the fruits of our labor! All produce is grown on River Farm.

WHAT WE GROW
These will be in your share at different times of the season: Spinach, Lettuce, Chard, Summer Squash/ Zucchini, Cilantro, Basil, Parsley, Oregano, Sugar Snap Peas, Snow Peas, Plums, Sweet Corn, Broccoli, Cabbage, Beets, Green Beans, Tomatillos, Radishes, Carrots, Cherry Tomatoes, Slicing tomatoes, Heirloom tomatoes, Roma tomatoes, Sweet Peppers (many kinds!), Hot Peppers (optional), Eggplant (optional), Okra (optional), Cucumbers, Shallots, Onions, Melons (many kinds!), Pumpkins, Winter Squash

We include recipes with each week, as well as other goodies such as roasted peppers and dried tomatoes. The size of the shares starts smaller and gains as the season progresses. A typical spring share would be a bag of spinach, a head of lettuce, a bag of mixed summer squash and zucchini, beets or chard, spring onions and herbs. In August a typical share would be several pounds of tomatoes, a bag of sweet peppers (Hot are optional), a couple melons, several cucumbers, basil, maybe 1 zucchini, and shallots or onions. I hope that helps, over all you end up getting more than $25 a week worth of produce.

COST
Total cost is $450 for 18 weeks (mid-June – mid-October, paid in full or 2 payments. The first half ($225) is due when you sign up, and the second half is due by July 15. You can sign up by sending a check to: River Farm 12610 Hwy 10 Ellensburg, WA 98926

If you would like a brochure with a sign-up form sent to you in the mail, let me know! Thanks again and we look forward to sharing a delicious and healthy season!

mountain beef

We are a small family ranch situated on the border between Washington and Oregon, with grazing land in both states. We operate with a belief that Spanish Corriente cattle can be sustainably grown in the canyons and mountains of Eastern Washington and Oregon.

We follow a traditional pastoral grazing system where riders herd cattle and monitor range country year round, sharing the natural environment with other wildlife.

Our goals are to provide wholesome, healthful meat and to promote a pastoral grazing system that will inherently advance the management of our natural resources, thus becoming a sustainable ranch and home where our children can grow. Ultimately we strive to benefit the land, community and our own family through thoughtful and caring stewardship.

Because our cattle are naturally raised, and are grazing 100% of their lives, we only harvest once a year. Therefore, we supply a year's worth of beef to each of the families purchasing Mountain Beef. We follow the natural life cycle of cattle and grass each year.

Our beef is custom cut, wrapped and delivered frozen to the Meadowbrook Farmers Market at the Seattle Waldorf School drop site in October.

We take orders year round. When placing an order for a quarter, half or whole steer, the customer pays a deposit. The remaining balance is due upon delivery. Purchasing beef in bulk is economical and convenient.

If you are interested in knowing more about Mountain Beef, check out our website at www.mountain-beef.com. To ask questions or place an order, please e-mail us. Our contact info is on our website.

We look forward to hearing from you!
